LAST WEEKS Horse Racing NEWS
from The Western Australian
In other news, the strong competitor in the $100,000 Westbred 2YO Fillies Classic at Glouvester Park of 2130 meters, the Ross Olivieri trained Sheer Rocknroll, was withdrawn from the race five minutes before start last night (July 3rd).
The reason for the withdrawal was based on the fact the stewards suspected an injury with the horse, Sheer Rocknoll. Course investigator Phil O’Reilly and steward Brad Bennetts had apparently seen a bleeding puncture wound on the horse earlier in the afternoon.
“Ross Olivieri has denied a race-day treatment of the filly and an inquiry is ongoing.”, says chief steward Carl Coady.
The third favourite Sheer Rocknroll will receive proper treatment and investigations regarding the supposed puncture wound, according to the report posted on The Western Australian.
The Australian horse racing scene is always and new, exciting and tragic events may unfold over the coming days as many races need to finish before this season is over.
We’ll do our best to keep you informed on what’s going on in this thrilling sport here in Australia.
